The
OSH published Approved Code of Practice for Operator Protective
Structures recommends that from 31st December 2000 new and existing
self propelled mobile mechanical plant be fitted with some form of
Operator Protective Structure. The minimum level of protection
recommended is dependent on the intended use of the item of plant.
Options Include:
- ROPS: Roll Over Protective Structure
- TOPS: Tip Over Protective Structure
- FOPS: Falling Protective Structure
- COPS: Cabin Operator Protective Structure
It is a requirement that all structures are designed and the fabrication / installation is certified by a Registered Engineer.
Since the introduction of the Code of Practice Robt Stone has
fabricated in excess of 600 Operator Protective Structures. Most of
these have also been installed by Robt Stone either in one of the
company workshops or in the client’s workshop by field crews.
Robt Stone has existing certified designs for all of the most popular
